Periodontal Services

Though your mouth may feel healthy and you may not have any symptoms, periodontal disease can progress without a patient knowing. If left untreated, periodontal disease can destroy the supporting bones in your mouth. This is why early treatment and prevention is so important! Your dentist will make sure you are receiving the highest quality of care that will assist in preventing periodontal disease from developing.

Fluoride Treatment

Periodically we will suggest a fluoride treatment for your teeth. It’s a simple and quick process and can be done during your routine exam. No extra appointment is necessary. Fluoride is a mineral that helps prevent tooth decay and is applied to your teeth. This strengthens the enamel so your smile will be as strong as ever.

Digital X-rays

Dental x-rays are a great preventive, diagnostic tool that provides important information not visible during a regular dental exam. Our dental team will utilize this important information to safely and accurately detect any dental abnormalities and then create an accurate treatment plan.

Intraoral Camera

Dr. Below uses an intraoral camera to help you make decisions on your care. We give you options, show you the possibilities and inform you visually, in written form and through our conversations. The intraoral camera is a new way to help you understand how your teeth and smile are holding up. It even helps us diagnose the condition of your smile in ways that weren't possible before.

The intraoral camera, about the size of a pen, lets you see on a television screen exactly how your smile looks, and the condition of your teeth. In the past, understanding your dental health was mostly left to your imagination; dentists could only tell you how healthy your teeth were or, at best, show you by using an x-ray. Now, Dr. Below has changed all that through the use of his intraoral camera.

The intraoral camera employs the latest video technology and allows Dr. Below to show you your teeth as he is examining them. By viewing the television screen, right from the dental chair, you see what the camera sees. This gives you a look into your care that was impossible before. Now, you can not only see what your teeth look like in fine detail, but the doctor can explain your dental situation to you as you see it, helping you better understand how current and future dental care will affect the overall health of your smile.

Before & After Digital Imaging

Before and after digital imaging will show you what you could look like with appearance enhancing esthetic procedures. First, a picture of your existing smile is taken and then shown on a computer monitor. Then the picture can be altered using the computer to re-shape the teeth, fill in a chip, whiten or change the look of your smile in just about any way you desire.

Zoom!® Teeth Whitening

Achieve the pearly white smile you have been dreaming about with the Zoom! teeth whitening system. Many people are opting for the Zoom!® system for fast, safe, and effective teeth whitening. Zoom!® combines the newest advances in dental technology with proven chemical formulas. This ensures that the bleaching experience is painless, and the results are satisfying.

This laser-like method is actually a high intensity light. It’s as fast as a laser, but gentle on your teeth because it doesn’t produce extreme heat. It can erase years of deep stains and in many cases even tetracycline stains. Using a pen-size light, Dr. Below simply shines it for one minute on a light-activated gel placed on each tooth. Depending on the current color of your teeth, this is done 3 to 4 times per tooth. Combine at-home whitening, which removes surface stains, with this laserfast method and you’ve whitened your teeth from the outside in and the inside out, creating amazing results.

Soon after starting treatment at our office, the effects of coffee, smoking, tea, and other causes for tooth discoloration, will slowly disappear, leaving a beautiful white smile.

The Clean Kiss Oral Care System

When we eat, drink, or breathe, bacteria enters our mouth and can cause gum disease. Gum disease can cause inflammaion which could cause many diseases like diabetes and heart disease. To avoid this bacteria from entering our bloodstream, it is important keep our mouths clean.

The Clean Kiss Oral Care System offers different products to help support proper oral hygiene. It comes with five products - Scrub, Swish, Support Anti-Inflamatory, Support Bone Health, and Spray.

The Clean Kiss Scrub provides baking soda which srubs away unwanted and harmful bacteria. It also helps fight infection and reduces inflammation to give you a cleaner smile!

The Clean Kiss Swish has apple cider vinegar which helps to whiten teeth, prevent decay, and kills bacteria that can cause diseases. The mouth rise is diluted enough so that the apple cider vinegar doesn't weaken tooth enamel and gives you a brighter and healthy smile.

The Clean Kiss Support Anti-Inflamatory helps those who may not get adequate nutritional support to prevent gum disease. This Clean Kiss Inflamatory has 12 anti-oxidants to prevent inflammation, gum disease, and cavities. This will show improved heart function, blood pressure, and immune system.

The Clean Kiss Support Bone Health helps to prevent Periodontal disease. Periodontal disease causes loss of bone and teeth to become weak and fall out. The Clean Kiss Support Bone Health has bone strengthing ingredients to ensure your teeth stay strong.

The Clean Kiss Spray gives you fresh breath and helps to support the Scrub toothpaste and Swish Mouth Rinse!

Smile Restoration Materials

Ceramic/all-porcelain crowns, porcelain veneers, bonded inlays/onlays, bonding/contouring porcelain and titanium implants are all part of the modern renaissance of dentistry. "Conventional dentistry", metal based, non-esthetic dentistry, solved many of the basic health issues associated with your dentistry. But it falls short when you try to improve on the vitality of your smile or solve the micro-dental issues that metal materials can’t alleviate. The naturally focused materials that are now available provide many solutions conventional materials could not. Dr. Below can present you with the options that could be helpful in your situation during a complimentary smile consultation.

Veneers

Porcelain veneers are thin, tooth-colored shells that your dentist uses to improve the appearance of your smile. He will bond the veneers to the surfaces of the teeth to correct certain dental flaws. Your porcelain veneers are customized for a perfect fit and natural appearance. When in place, porcelain veneers can:

  • Close spaces between the teeth
  • Lighten and brighten the teeth
  • Improve the beauty of your smile
  • Repair chips, wear, or cracks in teeth
  • Correct teeth that are misshapen, crooked, or uneven

The procedure usually requires two visits to our office to complete. When your veneers are in place, you can enjoy a radiant new smile.

Crowns and Bridges

Crowns are necessary when a tooth is severely damaged or has suffered from advanced decay and cannot be fixed with bonded filling material. Crowns cover the remaining tooth and restore its function, strength, and esthetics. Several crown material options are available including non-metal crowns. Your dentist will discuss these on an individual basis depending on the area of the mouth that needs to be restored.

Bridges can be utilized when tooth loss occurs due to gum disease, decay, or injury. The loss of the tooth can create greater problems for your dental health if it is not corrected. The teeth next to the missing tooth (or teeth) can begin to move and result in pain, discomfort, and can look unsightly. With bridges, our dentist will close any gaps in your mouth. The bridge looks and acts just like natural teeth, is permanently cemented, and helps to maintain the position of the rest of your teeth.

Crown Lengthening

If you have ever noticed that your smile seems to be more gum than teeth, and that your teeth appear to be very short, you may be a good candidate for cosmetic crown lengthening. Your teeth are most likely the right length, but are being covered by an excessive amount of gum tissue. Crown lengthening involves removing some of the gum tissue to expose more of your natural teeth. Dr. Below has the skill to do this to one tooth, several teeth, or an entire arch to give you a smile you'll be happy to show off.

With functional crown lengthening, Dr. Below can ensure that a patient is ready for other restorative or cosmetic procedures.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are now a cornerstone of dentistry and provide the best option for replacing missing teeth in certain situations. We will provide a comprehensive evaluation if you have missing teeth and are considering dental implant therapy. We have multiple options available for replacing a single missing tooth or the entire dentition. We strive to make this option affordable for all our patients, so you can enjoy the full benefits of this technology. Many patients are able to have the entire implant procedure completed right here in our office.

Silent Nite® Anti-Snoring Device

Silent Nite is a custom-fabricated device that when worn moves the lower jaw into a forward position, creating space in the airway tube. It also reduces air velocity and soft tissue vibration, which are elements that cause snoring. Special connectors are attached to the top and bottom of the device. The device is custom laminated for each patient, so it fits comfortably in their mouth.

Non Surgical Treatment of Gum Problems using Laser Therapy

With advances in technology, the latest conservative gum therapy uses a laser. This laser gently disinfects and eliminates the diseased tissues from around the tooth and inside the gum pocket. This treatment interrupts the bacterial destruction of the tissues and bone, giving the gum pocket a chance to heal.

Repeated visits (usually 2 to 8), will allow the gum pocket to be disease-free and sometimes allow tissues to reattach to the pocket and return to a more healthy dental condition. Laser therapy is gentle, less painful, and allows for a quick recovery since there is no need for the use of a scalpel. While surgery may still be needed for severely advanced periodontal cases, laser therapy is a much more conservative, effective, and comfortable option for beginning to moderate periodontal cases.

Holistic Dentistry

The office of Walter R. Below DMD believes in having a natural, holistic approach to dentistry. We offer holistic dental services and believe in using natural materials and substances. By using nontoxic materials, we can improve our patient's overall health and prevent harmful chemicals from entering their system. This in turn helps to prevent or reduce risks of medical risks for those dealing with heart disease, diabetes, and pregnancies.
